So today is my 6th year marriage anniversary. Although I am a natural I decided to break out another blonde wig (me in blonde just looks so fierce) with a simple outfit for a mellow evening with my love. Nothing extravagant just simple yet cute. I wore the following:
Tribal print top
Long fitted black skirt
chestnut platform pumps
Black waist belt (I had a different color one on but I just LOVE my black one)
I have yet to wear a shorter skirt, but once again I do enjoy the long fitted ones
HAPPY 6th YEAR MARRIAGE ANNIVERSARY TO ME & MY LOVE !!!!!!!
Had to take the time out to acknowledge a moment in my life that changed it FOREVER, we've had a ups and downs but we still continue on. As our marriage ages we realize that the union is much stronger and to be friends first is so important to maintain a healthy marriage.
Peace to my Underground Kings and Queens.
I know I'm going to give much coverage to the local Tri-State areas dopeness, but to start it off I will acknowledge one of the MANY ''Put yourself to work'' examples we have out here in CT. Hunnet Barz is the young man in the photograph and he began as a street team promoter, supporter and often encouragement to the gritty continuously grinding underground team Main Event. Feeling impressed to be more of a help Hunnet Bars decided to step behind the lens and began interviewing his fellow Main Event comrades. He and his fellow Main Event team were consistently promoting via facebook, youtube and word of mouth. So I decided to have a look at the footage. When first viewing the videos were recorded in the artist element of choice (studio, the hood, etc), knowing that this was his first attempt at interviewing I expected the random questions and shaky focus that still didn't turn me away I was still intrigued to see it to the end. As I continued to watch it I began to understand his vision. Many people that think only about what's in front of them will never get the big picture. And within those grainy video shots and shaky lens focus I seen the BIGGER picture for Hunnets new baby. Hunnet continues to record artist interviews and grooms his skills along with it. His video series also has a name now Keepin it A Hunnit wit Hunnet which is under his Str8t Barz imprint. This series will provide an outlet for underground and upcoming artist to give viewers an understanding of who they are as an artist, their purpose, what projects they have going on and more. Can he be sucessful with this ? Absolutely. Can this be a stepping stone and great source for him to network and build contacts ? NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. We are in the SELF-MADE era where anyone can attain success and wealth, the resources are out there but you have to be willing to think outside the box, take risk, continuously learn, continuously grind and have a sense of humility. I honestly believe with time, consistency and dedication this can be a sucessful gig for Hunnet Bars. I salute you Sir and you get theDOPENESS !!! stamp. Check out the Youtube Channel HERE
It's Only Right
It's only right that I continue to move in this direction, if in this direction I can see my destination way down the road
It's only right I remove what was toxic to my soul if I function greater when it is not around me
It's only right to sew good seeds if I expect to reap a good harvest
It's only right to do what is best if I want only the best .......
Random Thought- Artiste Monique
So I decided to do VARIOUS things this year and as I complete them I will discuss, showcase and or share them with all of my wonderful readers. In the areas of music, fashion, literature, art, dance, health, film, sports and travel makes my year a pretty full one. Not to mention the continuous effort to raise awareness in our urban communities, being a wife, mother, sister, cousin, friend and business partner it's only with God's help I'm able to do all these things and not be somewhere in a corner losing my mind. I'm very excited and look forward to sharing so much with you all. Until then, continue to pray hard, work hard, play hard, love you and love life.
Chow for now,
I'm not sure if you've heard of this artist The Weeknd . If you haven't YOU'RE about to. His voice was mistaken for Drake in the beginning by some(shame on you), his songs featured on shows and played at events, he's gaining coverage from bloggers and other media sources as well as featuring on songs with well known industry artist. The Weeknd is definitely making a name for himself as a innovative, creative artist with depth and the ability to continue to only get better. I honestly enjoy the mystery that is the The Weeknd, his wales and moans intertwined with notes and lyrics give it almost a triphop feel but the rawness is so potent you can not classify this mans work. The Weeknd's creative mind and creations do not deserve to be place in any box to be labeled a mere speck of what his music contains. I personal feel his music is similar to abstract art. It's that awesome, twisted, misunderstood, raw, dark, secretive and mysterious piece of work that grabs your attention every time.
Now for some brief history: The Weeknd is a Canadian recording artist and record producer of Ethiopian descent. Songs recorded under The Weeknd name first leaked in late 2010, though the identity of the individual behind the project was initially unknown. The Weeknd released a nine-song free album, House of Balloons, on 21 March 2011 he has released two more since them Thursday and Echoes of Silencebut in honor of around this time last year I had to blast the House of Balloons mixtape all day today.
The Weeknd= DOPENESS !!!!!!!!!
Check it out for your self.

Me being the greedy little booger that I am I had to ask my cousin Chrissy to bring me to a food place that will make me never forget it. So my AWESOME cousin decided to bring me to Original Tommy's where I had the TASTIEST chili-burger !!! The bun was oh so soft, and the infamous chili LAWD !!!!!! If you ever get a chance to go out to Cali I advise you to hit up Tommy's. Oh and there chilli fries ON POINT !!!! Take a moment to drink the pictures of that bad boy in :
You see that lovely picture ...... No I didn't pull it of the computer, I didn't borrow it from a friend that picture was taken during my visit to good ol' California !! Ah yes, Cali is a beautiful place to visit. I went in February on business and crashed with my cousin. I had A BALL !!!!!!!!!!! The weather was comfortable, the sights I experienced were breathtaking (the beach, mountains, Beverly Hills, downtown LA &etc) as well as REAL (riding through Inglewood and various spots, the massive size graveyards, drive thru funeral home & etc) but overall I enjoyed it ALL. I stayed in studio city and it gave me a home feeling it felt like I was in another part of Hamden, CT. I can honestly say if I ever decided to move out there adapting wouldn't be too difficult. Well, until my next visit have a look at some random pics I took while my cousin and her friend (my new found buddy) Sally gave me the drive thru tour of the town.
